Sergio Furnari said he thought the lifesize sculpture – which no one commissioned – would raise ‘millions’ of dollars

To add injury to insult, Furnari recently broke his foot working on the statue, after tripping over a roll of tape in his studio.

“Is it cursed? Maybe. I don’t know,” he told the Guardian.

he spent $100,000 on steel, resin and labor

So the real cost was probably a few grand in materials, at most, and he’s no doubt saying his time is worth $1000/hour or more.

It was a grift all along, especially wanting to display it in a place that just elected a “democratic socialist” mayor, one of the biggest Democrat strongholds.

Definitely, no way it’s 100k usd of work. Looking around the going rate for human sized metal statues is 15-50k in the US.

NYC is most definitely not a Democrat stronghold in the sense that it’s expected to go progressive in every election.

Since 1960 the republicans have won New York in the presidential election just 3 times, and not once since 1984. That’s 42 years ago.

It’s a Democrat stronghold if there ever was one.

Giuliani was the 2 term mayor during 9/11 from ‘94-‘01, then Bloomberg from ‘02-‘13

Eric Adams was a DINO for sure

Summary: Artist tried to cash in on a person’s death only to find that the hateful people that were supposed to like the hateful person dont actually care about him one way or the other … and everyone with sense actually hates the guy.

it’s extremely shoddily made due to blatant inaccuracies.

obviously this statue needs a LOT more work to have any worthwhile representation of charlie kirk.

first of all, it’s missing the very important actively gushing neck hole.

second of all, he looks lucid and composed instead of convulsing due to sudden loss of oxygenated blood pressure in his brain.

i don’t think anyone will buy it until these glaring issues are amended.

How come this git is still in the news? He was not someone of any importance, not domestically and definitely not internationally.

This artist sucks, he didn’t get Charlie Kirk’s face nearly small enough on that stupid head of his.

So grifter is furious that he couldn’t monetise far right? Fucking good riddance then. Not because I’m saying this to defend those cretins. Making this persons statue is basically means he’s trying to immortalise his existence means his views too. If you don’t like him why make a fucking statue? What sort of brain dead idea is this? He could have donated that money to a charity instead trying to make easy bucks.

Michelangelo at least waited until he was commissioned to do something. I translated an old Latin piece of conversation scroll between Michelangelo and the pope, it said…“Show me the money, bitch!”.
