He could have said nothing. It would have been cowardly, but slightly less so.

241·6 days agoCutting the public sector just like the Conservatives do. Carney’s government is conservatism under another name.

Canada@lemmy.ca•Two-thirds of Canadians give Trump an ‘F’ for his first year in office; half as many CPC voters agree
7·11 days agoUnbelievably damning results. I don’t see how the CPC can continue to function as a party.
Only first-past-the-post enables it to.

Canada@lemmy.ca•Two-thirds of Canadians give Trump an ‘F’ for his first year in office; half as many CPC voters agree
6·11 days agoSo he wants to “deport” all non-white people and all the white people he doesn’t like. It’s not a political philosophy, it’s a childish tantrum.

Canada@lemmy.ca•Two-thirds of Canadians give Trump an ‘F’ for his first year in office; half as many CPC voters agree
19·11 days agoSome Conservatives are actively seditious, working with the USA to destroy Canada from within. And many others support this and would love to have something like ICE attacking people they don’t like here.

Canada@lemmy.ca•Canadians kind of hate America now. Our new poll shows just how much.
4·12 days agoMaybe they will change their view given what we see going on in the USA? It’s hardly looking like the land of opportunity these days.

Canada@lemmy.ca•Carney Plots ‘Buy Canada’ Defense Strategy to Unlock Billions in Investment to Boost Domestic Industries amid Growing Arctic Threat by Russia, China
11·16 days ago“Russia has a tremendous interest and focus in the Arctic,” Paul Lynd, assistant director at the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS), told the foreign affairs committee on Thursday. “However, they are of less concern than, say, the activities of China and other hostile state actors at this time.”
Hmm, I wonder who those others could be.

38·28 days agoI don’t know about the legalities, but the word I would use for collaborating with a hostile foreign power to dismantle your own country is “treason”.

15·1 month agoAnd we will return the favour.
Resources, Lebensraum, narcissism, envy, revenge, controlling the Arctic Ocean.
Trump has promised to destroy Canada and/or annex it. This is a way for the USA to undermine Canada as a country. I imagine they’ll also be supporting Quebec separatists in secret, not because they have any real common cause but because they want to see Canada weakened and desperate.

Canada@lemmy.ca•Proposed deepwater port gets support of community leaders in Qikiqtarjauq, Nunavut
7·1 month agoSeems like a good idea. The proposal to develop Churchill also seemed like a good idea.

Also known as “not most people”.
Your tone is that of a deliberate agitator trying to get Canadians riled up against each other.
Not all of us. Just the Conservative traitors.

Canada@lemmy.ca•Trump threatens 100% tariffs on all Canadian goods if Canada 'makes a deal with China'
23·1 month agoThis man is so fucking emotionally fragile, he’s like a fucking baby.
He’s so emotionally fragile that he’s showing the entire world there’s no point trying to deal with him. He’ll always change his mind tomorrow and you’ll be back to square one. Why even bother? You are better off dealing with someone who understands the value of negotiating a deal and keeping promises.

Canada@lemmy.ca•[US Treasury Secretary] Bessent Makes Tone Deaf Claim Canadians Want to be American
23·1 month agoDespite Bessent’s claim that people want “what the U.S. has got,” Greenlanders insisted they did not want to join the U.S.
Americans are deluded about their country being the envy of the world. No one is looking at the USA and thinking “I want that” except for the most desperate and the most gullible and propagandized. Everyone else is quite happy to avoid what the USA has, because they find it disgusting.
And that includes most of us Canadians. Apart from the stupidest and the traitors and grifters (jointly known as Conservatives) we absolutely do not want to become part of your shitty and declining country. I have many American friends and mostly they ask me how they can escape to Canada.

Yeah it would be more a case of omitting an important part of the truth.
