Several White House officials revealed to NBC News that President Donald Trump is growing increasingly “worried” over Canada regarding its ability to defend its borders, with one official saying that Trump’s concern stems from his “vision of ‘solidifying’ the Western Hemisphere,” the outlet reported Sunday.

I fucking hate my president, but the whole government is complicit.

    Supreme Court? Nah, team fascist.

    Congress? Nah, team fascist.

Where the fuck are the SEPARATION OF POWERS and CHECKS AND BALANCES we learned about in civics class?

Turns out checks and balances don’t mean shit if no one actually defends them.

If your country survives this, you are due a serious overhaul of your supposed checks and balances and, more generally, of your political system. Too much assumes common decency, which the rest of your political and economix systems have been working hard to eliminate.

Electoral college? Hyper powerful president? That stuff needs to go.

If congress, supreme court, and executive are majority same party — there’s no power left to check or balance.

If we had ranked choice voting, we might not be in this mess. Everything devolving into a two-party system has led us to this.

Despite all the (phony) reverence for the document in the U.S., the Constitutional Convention fucked up, badly. The Founding Fathers disliked political parties, considering them divisive, so they drew up a system that assumes that all office-holders are independent. That system is supposed to leverage the mutually-opposing interests of the representatives to check and balance each other. It simply can’t work if a group of people with aligned interests control multiple branches of government.

They signed their new constitution in 1788, and by 1792, Alexander Hamilton formed the first political party. Whoops.

Reagan with relaxing corporate oversight and then Bush with the Patriot act and lastly Trump packing the Supreme Court really made a fascist’s utopia out of a system that barely had any accountability to start with.

      Not to mention Citizen’s United.

It is time that every Canadian went out and got their firearms licenses, a rifle, a shotgun, and a range membership to learn how to use both.

We are at serious risk right now, and all hands need to be on deck for this one.

      A good idea.

Keep in mind that you, the people outside of the U.S., and even a solid majority of people within the U.S. are on the same side.

He only has about a 30% approval rating on any given thing. In the U.S. there are a lot of people who have been looking around waiting for someone to do something in order to feel comfortable acting, and if he attacks Canada the people in the U.S. will see that as there instantly being 30 million people who are willing to do something, and it might trigger an active resistance within the U.S…

If they want to be on our side they need to get their house in order before mistakes are made and we become real enemies. I don’t care if 70% are against him, they don’t do shit to stop him. Complacency is support.

Keep in mind that everyone who stays on their own side of the border will be just fine, and everyone else is taking two to the chest.

You mean aside from those sent to the death camps, murdered in the streets, or taken as victims of human trafficking?

No one is responsible for what the US does except US citizens. If they want to stop being murdered, put in camps, or trafficked maybe they should remove the murderers, fascists, and traffickers from their country. Imagine having more guns than people and still not being able to defend oneself from all of that.
