American militarism, their openness to fascism and their eagerness to impose their will over the territory i inhabit makes me grateful that there are powers out there like China that might provide some political and economic opposition. China is important as a much needed counterweight to American hegemony. a “lesser evil”
As for the intellectual cuckoldry; I use that term for any intellectual operation that is entirely take over by an external agent. And to stay on topic I don’t need 600 billion dollars in data center infrastructure and all the water in the world to write these comments in my little tablet. and neither do you need all that infrastructure to use an open source model to do whatever you use ai for. Thus no need for data centers!
