Yah, I just read the History section of the OO wikipedia page, and it mentions that from the start. I’m not someone with a knee jerk reaction to “Russian” but it’s worth considering. Thanks.
The question then is: Does CP replacing the server-side code with their own resolve this concern, or is there still a risk there? Man, nothing is simple.

1·4 days agoYes but the RSS feed for non-subscribers is just the announcement of the post. I still have to go to the site to read the whole newsletter, which is fine.

I use the free version and its great for what OP described. Really simple to set up in docker too.

I see the Linkedin logo but don’t know of any such replacement for the ‘social media for employment’ service they offer. If there is now such a service, I would switch in a heartbeat.

Edit to Add: And if you can’t host it yourself, I’ve used PikaPods for things like this and they have a few of those options available in their list for not much dough:

I had to look that up, so for anyone else:
How does the ELK stack work? Logstash ingests, transforms, and sends the data to the right destination. Elasticsearch indexes, analyzes, and searches the ingested data. Kibana visualizes the results of the analysis.

1·8 months agoFor those like me still learning.
Linux Containers (LXC) is an operating system-level virtualization method for running multiple isolated Linux systems (containers) on a control host using a single Linux kernel.
Hi @[email protected] , I really love this idea and really appreciate you taking on this big task.
I can see it replacing the stand-alone web site I run now for a local group, but I have a couple of questions before I go install the app and try it out.
Again, thanks.
