Clearly they use it for identification if as the OP said the camera can be used to load your driver profile. As far as I know that goes directly against the EU law stating no biometric data can be processed by the camera.

I think it’s unacceptable and indicative of this dangerous path we are headed down as whole. There’s already been a few write ups on how cars are the most privacy disrespecting “devices” out there, which is wild considering we have smartphones.

With the driver facing camera we have no control over it also has complete access to our travel data, probably knows exactly who we are in the car with, records all our private conversations etc. etc.

It’s so tiring to hear people defend this as if privacy is a thing of the past and anyone advocating it is being dramatic.

Sure but I would argue its not entirely in line with what you expressed earlier. Some might survive the corruption.

Well, those things I do agree with.

I see where you are coming from, but I don’t think money and power as a sole criteria automatically makes someone a child molester, though I am guessing they are a very well represented demographic in the child molestation sector.

So the only thing that stands between you and child molestation is money and power?

I really dislike framing child molestation as a symptom of power, as if anyone with such power would practice child molestation.

Typically I have bands I like, I go to their shows and I will sometimes discover other bands by means of opening acts etc. Or I will read up about a band, see what other projects members have worked on, are affiliated with, or see what bands would play as openers to those bands.

Sometimes there’s a show with some band I don’t really know about and someone invites me along and then I might like that band, and then I have a whole new band to learn about in regards to members, openers, other projects etc. etc.

Can also do the same thing with the label a band is signed to, check out what other stuff is signed, if I like it I can do the same song and dance exploring which other music that band is linked to.

And then of course sometimes something just falls into my lap and then I just listen to that.
