Yeah it’s a recent thing

Rather annoying, but I don’t give a shit about reddit enough to try to fix it. Honestly, using the new UI keeps me from spending too much time there, so that’s a bonus.

I checked out on Brown during COVID when he went on one of his political/mask rants and I just couldn’t deal with his right wing bent anymore.
I love his old stuff, but even that doesn’t really draw me in like it used to.

Kinda surprised it took that long. Pretty sure Rowe was an anti-covid chud too
You know we get that you’re repeating the same tired point that’s not really relevant to the reasons why it’s being done, right?
The people who are cutting down the cameras care fuck all about the local cost, they care about the cameras being disabled to prevent shit like someone being pulled over because they crossed the state line and back like This example I saw on 404Media
they’ll just raise your taxes. Either way,
I think your comma and period were swapped here, cuz they’re going to do that either way already.

I meant to get a similar amount of protein you need to consume more vegan food, especially calorie rich ones, most restaurants that I’ve seen when they have comparable items the vegan one had way more calories.
Sure, but optimizing for protein isn’t the best methodology. I guess if you’re determined to max protein, meat is a better source. But if you want a better and more rounded diet, especially one low in saturated fats and high in fiber, the vegetarian (or even reduced meat) pathway is much better. Doubly so if you’re concerned about heart disease, colon cancer, or any of the side effects of eating too much protein.

Pretty sure people have done the maths and to approach the levels of efficiency that say meat has you’d be consuming a lot more calories.
What does meat’s “efficiency” have to do with anything related to caloric intake? If I consume 1000 calories of meat or 1000 calories of vegetables, I’ve still consumed 1000 calories. I can only assume you mean I would have to eat a larger quantity of vegetables get the same amount of calories, and that’s not the argument you think it is when people by and large consume too many calories and don’t get enough micronutrients as it is.
but your quality of life will be worse, so yes I count that as those meat products being necessary, in spite of the environmental damage
I’m not even a full vegetarian, but even I know this is just self justification for what you want to do. One of my partners is a vegetarian, and I cut back on like 80-90% of my meat intake and my quality of life (like energy and general physical/mental wellbeing) is the same or better than it was a few years ago.
The only good points you made was about food waste and lab meat, the rest is just cope.

Except you don’t need to eat meat, you’re just justifying the destruction you like. That’s not to say that AI is anything close to as relevant as food, but the point still stands, meat production is destructive to the environment.

I’m constantly amazed that people think telegram is secure.

Almost 110 years minimum (at least for the British), 1917

Go back another 20ish years and we were still tapping electronic comms, the Zimmerman Telegram was WW1

Telegrams between North America and Europe ran over a single pathway, which ran through England. The British tapped that cable and were spying on German (and everyone else’s) communications sent through them, which is why Germany had to encode their messages to Mexico asking them to join in WW1 to get Texas back.
My wife and I will regularly go “One moooooore thing” anytime we have to add to a list
The Battlestar Galactica remake is like this. I love the show, but that ending seemed to go off the fucking rails

I wasn’t making any point for using either above the other
I know, but I AM making a point to use podman over docker because it’s rootless by default and requires less work/admin overhead to implement and maintain.
It’s all well and good that docker can run rootless with a good amount of tweaking and configuration, but the juice isn’t worth the squeeze IMO. I pulled the pin on that once I realized podman was the much better option.

Lying to yourself is a really good start, followed closely by not buying food or services like internet

Could you imagine being spied on in your own car?? Good thing my car from 2016 with OnStar totally isn’t spying on me!!1!
Or, you know, you’d end up dead on your doorstep for trying to invoke your 2nd amendment to the fucking cops. That’s a good way to end up getting a Darwin award.
