21·1 day agoIt is a federation of multiple instances with one goal in mind: to liberate human interaction from gamification and algorithm manipulation that makes you addicted to the platform, allowing them to brainwash you with targeted ads.
As for Lemmy/Piefed, the goal is to liberate and free human speech without profiting from it or being manipulated by algorithms and features like Reddit’s karma system.

No, it’s not beneficial. The difference between consoles and PCs is that PCs have an open infrastructure, which lets you back up your data to any medium or service you want.
For example, if Steam goes out of business and doesn’t release the DRMs, they will easily be cracked. You cannot say the same for consoles.

65·2 days agoPerhaps I’ll be controversial, but it might be a good thing. Here in Ottawa, projects are debated for ages, and the rural councilors simply do not want to do what’s best for the urban area. Maybe this power expansion will speed up project development.



His argument simply doesn’t make sense. After all, communism is about the abolition of religion. The Chinese Communist Party strictly regulates religions in China. Of course, the Chinese are not influenced by the Pope because most of them are not Christian.
I mean, what the hell is he talking about?
