The point being, you don’t know who’s going to be good at something based on past performance in unrelated roles.
What’s surprising to me isn’t that the random promotion system works over the performance in past unrelated roles system…
What’s surprising to me is that you practically never see the only other logical conclusion used in the business world much.
Aptitude testing.

and I don’t see how knowing would make that any different for me.
It would confirm you’re a claimant with valid damages caused to you, legally speaking, for which you could then seek civil remedy directly from the various different culpable parties, even if criminal prosecution isn’t coming.

Are you my former boss?
Is…is there another way other than cold turkey stopping shampooing? Legit question. My thick mane of curls and I are always on the lookout for ways to stay in balance against the environment.

We all know Florida is one of the hottest and most humid places in the country. It’s a form of torture, likely to cause death
Plus also literally mosquito food in a place with encroaching new fun mosquito borne illnesses, as they’re trapped in a cage without any sort of protection. Absolutely deliberately cruel and unusual.

It would be pretty trivial for their backend system to interpret the images server side and build an identification profile for each vehicle. This way, even if you remove your plate, your vehicle can be identified.
They already are.
That’s what Nightshift/OS whatever the fuck they changed the name to, the law enforcement portal that makes use of the camera feeds and cross references with/across the various law enforcement databases, empowers.
The publication briefly mentioned it obliquely, but the article is about the camera software itself and they’re being remarkably restrained in their reporting. To avoid legal challenges perhaps.

No theory needed. You absolutely can, almost trivially so.
Only real challenge(s) would be either owning the hardware capacity or renting from a neutral host to run the fake AI personality at/or near equivalent levels if you’re gonna unleash Titty SouthRisesWood in an autonomous form.
Maybe a lawyer with a sense of humor on retainer to respond to the frivolous demand letters if they eventually find out you’re behind it.
And that’s just if you want to fight AI with AI.
Anyone could copy the model the good ol’ fashioned way in Blender, turn on a voice changer or use non-AI TTS and get to uploading their protected parodies.

I don’t see any reason the global south should get involved.
When has the global south ever gotten the choice to not be embroiled in the empire’s machinations?
At least be consistent in your thoughts.

You’re welcome. You can grok it if you read what I replied to, and then use media literacy to examine the negative spaces in my response; namely if all I gave are examples of what a story nee–Wait.
You’re not being genuine, are you?

That’s because this is the normal flow of things. Pare the mediums away, and you’re left with the same basic core: Stories.
The storyteller always has a reason for telling a story. Even when they are only setting out to entertain.
To be able to separate one’s actual feelings, knowledge, and values in order to write a purely entertaining tale, requires that the storyteller be aware of them. At which point they must then take an extra step to insert others.
What stories are, at their heart is the passing of an abstract message or purpose encoded in a surface pattern meant to be cognitively sticky.
The reason might be to teach the young in the tribe the seasonal crop patterns as it was thousands of years ago, as it still is in some places.
Or it could be a commentary on the social state of the times. Or any other thing.
But the other thing a story must be, is engrossing.
A good story must be entertaining or funny or terrifying. It must tug at the emotions of the listener in some way.
That’s what makes it stick. That’s how stories work.
There is nothing wrong with refusing to dig deeper into the meaning of a tale, especially if it’s presented or done poorly. That turns it into a lesson.
But the best stories, it doesn’t matter if you seek out the deeper meaning or not.
It’ll be there regardless and so will the story, and if and when the listener grows, the meaning will make itself clear on the next recounting.

As an outsider looking in who actually read the whole chain the same way I would a trainwreck…
The abyss you stared into is genuinely starting to stare out of your eyes, holy fuck.
Those downvote arrows raining on that other poor bastard stopped making sense over 10 replies back, and they’re gonna drag you right to hell with them.
Did you even notice when your wit turned from an irony exposing mirror and into a dagger?

Lol.
These shameless smarmy fucks will literally re-run the same grift that’s already in play just to reuse the talking points and sound bites.
Not only that, USPS is the only “major” carrier who will do so.
Yes, ego. Absolutely no other possible interpretation. My deepest apologies for wasting your graciousness, I am so undeserving of it, and you illustrate your point oh so well here…
[For those who come across this and are confused about this exchange: Do take the other commenter’s original message to heart, and see the rest of his interactions for a demonstration of ‘intent’ vs ‘action’ for a glimpse of mine.]
I’m not sure if you meant to use “salient” here, but I definitely wasn’t trying make my writing that.
No, I meant ‘saliency’. The sentence called for the noun form, not the adjective base.
I just clearly failed to explain what it was that I found salient and it’s not as self-evident in the light of your message as I hoped. Alas.
I’m also not sure…state that thing should be in by now.
I appreciate the reiteration, but you’re still perpendicular parallel (Edit: Geometry is hard) to the point I was trying to make.
Which does not contradict yours, but seeks to expose the individualist core from which the sentiments you are focusing on one abstraction layer above stem from.
I was not focusing on individualist anything.
And then, “holding us back,” itself casts a normative…
Oh. This is my dear friend, ‘semantics’ and its effects on perception, isn’t it? That’s what’s going on here.
I have neither time, nor will for this particularly loathsome recurring motif, as of the time of this writing.
It does not matter if my point did not carry across, ultimately. Your message is still fine and if more people followed it, they’d arrive closer to what I was trying and failed to communicate anyways, so by all means, carry on.

The commenter you replied to, basically described basic human-ing for you, and why it works and has always worked, in the past.
Your rebuttal is focused on…the Internet as an object of stagnant sociocultural jamming, is that right? I think that was the gist.
I won’t engage that directly at the moment, as it could just as easily be insight with poor communication skills behind it, as it could be a strange conspiracy theory, as it could be propaganda meant to deflate and discourage.
All equally plausible places to come from, because you keep repeating the same bits and not going deeper.
We should be choosing lower effort and maximizing for effect. Protests are high effort low effect. Online culture jamming is low effort, high effect. It is logic to anyone who thinks about this honestly
What is a low effort-high effect action you believe we should be taking?
On the same token, if your tactics to achieve a strategy which you’ve yet to share are sound…what are high effort and low effect actions we can force the opposition into making?

Really makes one wonder…How many fucking data points do these assholes need telling them we’re too fucking broke for their game and want their heads on pikes?
I think a lot of people don’t realize that they’re making conservative, revisionist narratives when they want to privilege hypocrisy in their arguments rather than morality.
Too many words past saliency. You attribute more than the source problem is.
“Institutions are what they do, not what they say they want to do.”
Is the correctly angled form of a pattern of thinking that starts within the individual, and it often looks like:
“Judge me by my intentions, not my actions”
It takes a certain requisite amount of empathy and critical thinking to flip ‘intention’ and ‘actions’ into their proper paths using the self awareness route.
The only meaningful shortcut is the existence of a well patterned role-model(s) in that individual’s life.
Both are in short supply nowadays, leading not to self awareness correction, but to expanding the conceit outwards. “If the Christians were like…If the Senators were like…if Capitalism was like…”.
A simple trap, and one of the most effective ones in holding us back as a collective.
Ya don’t break a rule; the car runs you over because distracted driver.
Ya break a rule to avoid distracted driver; you get ran over because your rule breaking in your tiny and light bicycle triggered the road rage of someone in a SUV whose control was entirely based on spite and the fact everyone else should follow rules without exception (that the state legislature carved for cyclists to try to minimize their deaths).
Being a cyclist commuter is fun, much recommended.
