… my dumb ass thought it meant roux. And I thought that would be uncomfortable to return. Not sure I’ve ever seen it spelled before looking it up just now.
Yeah, roux is a French word for red, either an orange-y kind of red, as in red hair, or in that case, turning to a reddish color (often through heating). That’s what happens when you heat butter (or another kind of fat) in a roux.
I don’t think either rue or roux will be very appreciated when the lady gets back her shoe.

That’s a brutal looking reaction! If I touched something like that, I’d look back on that moment and really not like it.
