      Croissants too foreign for the Clactonians. You’ve got to speak French to even say it out loud. £1 steak bakes and you’ve won for sure.

        Socialist here. Don’t disparage a good Greggs steak bake. A bit more than a quid, but still decent value.

        Sadly, it’s harder to find decent cheap croissants in this country. I’ve had far better for a euro in provincial French railway station cafes.
