I started in August. Running docker containers on ubuntu server lts minimal, on a ryzen 3 3200g with 16gb ram.
Running:
- Jellyfin
- RomM
- Kiwix
- Seafile
- Beszel
- Portainer
- WUD
- Pi-hole
- Unbound
- Caddy
- Syncthing
- Tailscale
The domain has no website and no open ports, so Caddy handles routing and automated tls certification via api. External access only via tailscale, per user and per device approval process. Split horizon dns so domain names resolve direct routes to server on lan, and via tailnet from outside.
500GB nvme OS drive rsynched nightly to a second matched nvme in the server. HDD data drives backed up using rsynch to matching sized drives in a DAS unit. Script dumps romm and seafile databases to hdd before rsynch Git pulls to data drive, captured in backup and Syncthing to separate device.
Parallel Pihole and Unbound on a RPi5. RPi5 is primary dns for the lan to spread load, but the config master is the server, RPi is kept in sync with a one way feed from the main server using Syncthing.
Looking into adding openclaw and ollama to play with, maybe use to monitor the server a bit more proactively. Need to plan out permissions and security so nothing dumb happens.
- Nextcloud
- Miniflux
- Gitlab
- HomeAssistant
- Wallabag
- Ghost (for my personal blog)
- Umami analytics
- Searx NG

- LAMP Stack
- TheLounge (IRC web client)
- Cockpit (server manager)
- RSSHub
- Jellyfin
- AdguardOn an Intel NUC in my closet.
Small Datacenter…
Hardware: 3x Dell R630’s, 256G (in 2) 512G (in 1) (Proxmox, Vmware ESX, NutanixCE) 1x Dell R730XD, 240TB, 256G-Ram (Truenas) 1x Dell R730XD, 50TB, 128GB Ram (Proxmox Backup Server)
In truenas containers I’m running my entire *Arr stack, cloudflare, Paperless, Ollama, Immich, etc.
In Proxmox I’m running a few Linux VM’s (mail gateway, Desktop VM’s for work, etc). VMWare and Nutanix are disposable hypervisors I use for deployment testing for work stuff.
Awesome! Welcome to the club!
- Tiny Tiny RSS: 13 year old php version (webhosting) 😆
- Home Assistant (NUC DN2820FYK) Not much, but it’s a start 😜
Welcome to the club my dude! Pleasure to meet your acquaintance.
Hey, I’m new here - but not new to self-hosting :-)
Self-hosting started for me via hosting a few services on my NAS - and then it escalated a bit…
At home:
- 2 Proxmox hosts (Miniforum MS-01 & GEEKOM XT12 Pro), services running mostly as Docker stacks in LXC containers, deployed via Komodo
- (several) Synology NAS (DS918+, DS1520+, DX517, RS2423+) for storage and backups
- UniFi network hardware (UDM Pro, USW Aggregation, USW Pro 48 PoE, U6-Lite APs) with a couple of VLANs. 10 GbE where possible.
- Technitium as DNS (recently replaced my old setup with AdGuard Home)
- Authentik for SSO in front of almost everything
- Nginx Proxy Manager as reverse proxy, Uptime Kuma to monitor stuff, Homepage as dashboard
- The actual fun stuff: Immich, Home Assistant, Paperless-NGX, Mealie, Bar Assistant, Stirling-PDF, Forgejo, Dawarich, LubeLogger, Umami, PBS, Grafana, AFFiNE, Actual, lifeGLANCE, Grocy, Rallly, Rackula, SnapOtter, Wallos, Homebox, RomM, Excalidraw my media stack… the list keeps growing, as I’m sure you all know.
Outside:
- a small server at a German hoster for the real public-facing stuff (WordPress blogs etc.). I just recently revived my old blog, started blogging again and - old school - created a personal website :-D
More about me can be found there. Also my new blog posts are and will be mostly about self-hosting topics after a longer blogging hiatus of about 15 years. Yes, I know, blogs aren’t exactly in fashion anymore :-)
Looking forward to discussions & fresh ideas from the community!

Overview
Been running this hardware setup since July 2025, although a couple of services have been added in that time. All works really well and has minimal maintenance as everything is fully automated with scripts. -
Welcome to the club. That’s quite an impressive set up you have there. It would seem you have replicated the entire awesome-selfhosted list. LOL At any rate, welcome.
I have an Asus NUC 12th gen with 32gb of ram and 1 TB of storage atm. I plan on expanding it with a DAS then run with that for a very long while until I can get a nice rack to play with and do some sys admin stuff down the line.
But ATM I got an arrstack going for Movies, TV, and Music. Alongside that I have Stalwart for mail, Immich for photo backup/gallery, Vaultwarden for password and auth manager, and opencloud for cloud storage.
Welcome. Nice to meet you!
My stack (Docker on Pi 5/Debian) is much bigger than this, but my top three favourites (not in any particular order) are:
- Adguard Home (browsing on my phone is finally bearable).
- Wireguard (using wg-easy) to not deal with port forwarding.
- Ignis, which I heavily prefer over WebObsidian. Aside from CouchDB giving me hell, it doesn’t use VNC to stream to your browser–it’s built on Electron and all the hard work is done in-browser (am happy to glaze this project further).

I’m trying to find something to create Portuguese subtitles for my kids animes, there are a lot of pt_br and I use those when avaliable but there is a lot animes that I can’t find any and I really prefer that they watch in pt_pt ( yes, I’m nagging them to get better in English but read while watching is tricky for them yet)
Dude! Welcome to the club. That’s quite a respectable stack you have there. Join in the discussions, learn, teach, help. It’s all good.
Thank you

I have been self hosting things for over 15 years. I now host on 7 computers. I’m proud of the fact that I stay under 100W idle, including 3 Omada WLAN APs and network technology (all via PoE and all is on a UPS). For most of the services i normally used the helper scripts. i’m currently in the process of moving everything to komodo. there should be an lxc for each service or service group, komodo pulls the compose files from gitea and deploys everything.

Main one I use right now is a media center running FreeBSD and XFCE, and KDE Connect for remote-like functionality.
I just play files with mpv manually, but might write a front-end for it one day.
