I did some research and couldn’t find any data or interviews to support this. I found a few interviews about how they are using AI but that’s about it. It was mostly to audit what is sent in, not social media.

The IRS has some relatively detailed specifications about their use of AI on their website. I haven’t looked carefully enough to make a judgment, but given the internet and clickbait, I wouldn’t be surprised if the original link is embellishing some specifics.
Assuming you’re willing to trust US government agencies more than clickbait media, which honestly, is a bit of a tossup.

I think it is headed in that direction I also think that paper is a little bat shit. 2 things can be true at the sametime but a contradiction is a contradiction. I look at issues as a hierarchal frame and I parse via the Cui bono Function. I get the same answer everytime and the solution is always “eat the rich”
But just us, not anyone with actual money.
They keep doing this despite more than enough evidence that auditing the wealthy would have far greater returns. Therefore, the IRS exists to punish the poor, not collect taxes.
The wealthy hire accountants and lawyers and fight back. Poor people just roll over, suffer and die early.
Even considering the increased difficulty in recovering taxes from the wealthy the returns are still so, so much larger that it makes it way more efficient if your goal is actually to recover as much evaded tax revenue as possible.
