“I think it’s worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights” - Charlie Kirk, 2023

Ironically, this assassin literally justified the 2nd Amendment. You use it to off tyrants. And boy they sure did.

But this guy wasn’t even a tyrant. He was just a fucking pawn. And there’s going to be somebody else ready to step in and take his place.

This doesn’t solve anything. It just gives the right a much needed distraction and the illusion of having an excuse to crackdown hard on the left. They would have done it either way, but this basically buys them cover.

Right? They’ve been treating the left so fairly this whole time and now we went and made them mad

Literally the opposite of what I said but sure. Would love to hear what the fuck you believe this accomplishes to stop fascism or even right wing propaganda? If the administration actually dials it back after this, I guess I’ll buy you a fucking drink and we’ll have a good laugh about how right you were the whole time.

Every time something like this happens, I honestly wonder how many people are actually this clueless and how many are just astroturfing/trolls working on behalf of the right and this administration to spread disinformation and outrage propaganda. I would like to believe it’s a ratio of about 15:85, but I’m also an optimist.

I just re-read your comment and didn’t see the words “illusion of,” so I actually did misunderstand you and apologize.

I’ll edit my comment to acknowledge that, but I’m still going to celebrate the dead fascist because it’s the news we need right now

You got to admit if you didn’t want to get shot, visiting a US school was a bad idea.

I’m sorry for his death. I disagreed with most of his points, I’m not event from the USA, but I hate seeing people celebrating the assassination of someone. What a fucked up world.

As much as I disagreed with him, I don’t remember Kirk killing millions, building concentration camps, starving people to death.

He wanted to eradicate transgender people from society and actively worked with the party currently performing an ethnic cleansing of the US. I’d say these are Nazi dogwishtles but honestly it’s pretty fucking mask off. One does not need to heil Hitler to be one.

Don’t pretend he wouldn’t have gleefully participated in that. He was an ardent trump supporter, and thus an ardent supporter of concentration camps.

I’m also not from the US. youre right we’re living in fucked up times.

At first, I was kind of sickened by the rhetoric in these threads too.

The thing is, US legislative, executive, judiciary, and even the media, are all corrupt. There is no truth and no justice.

This guy was profiting by engaging in a culture war, and manipulating anyone he could into signing up. He was recruiting people to an ideology intent on persecuting minorities.

There are people celebrating in these threads, and it is sickening. However, I do believe that he deserved to die, and his death is much less sickening than the atrocities performed by the conservatives every day. If it were a time of war, we would’ve taken one of their generals. We are all lessened by it, but the world is undoubtedly better for it.

One characteristic of fascism is the forcible suppression of opposition. By your statement which mentions that someone can « deserve to die » because of his political view opposed to your, in my opinion you’re more fascist than him. Or maybe I misunderstood you.

So far I saw videos of him debating, asking to be proven wrong. I don’t remember any quote of him saying something so violent as « someone deserve to die because xxx ». Knowing that trump got elected with less votes than during his 1st term, in the end one might argue that Kirk did a poor job.

That’s not what I said at all though, is it.

Conservatives don’t deserve to die, disingenuous manipulator recruiting young adults to fascism do.

If all you see is someone debating asking to be proven wrong then you’re a naive idiot.

After your comment, I documented myself on the techniques behind his debate techniques, watched multiple videos, found this one being the most educational : https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9O7y50cNb7c&pp=ugUHEgVlbi1HQg%3D%3D

You were right. There is no way to prove him wrong with all those techniques. However, I still do not think he deserved to die.

That’s fine, but I think you can probably understand why other commenters do feel that way, given his profiting from hatred and the deaths of others.

Whataboutism. As much as I disagreed with him, I don’t remember Kirk being a dictator, invading countries, killing his opponents, etc. Remember the last time Mussolini and Putin were debating with public in « prove me wrong » mode ? No. Because it did not happen.

My water heater started leaking over the weekend. It was only seven years old, but I suppose since the warranty was six years, I shouldn’t complain? Anyway, I installed my new water heater today, so I can shower again. This one has a 12-year warranty, it might out live me.

I just took a shower, I feel great. I’ll be going for a walk around sunset. It’s been a good day.

Trump ordered flags at half mast until Sunday. So this piece of shit got what he quite literally asked for and it’s a national tragedy, but innocent children killed in schools on a weekly basis get “nothing we can do about it, thoughts an prayers 🤷‍♂️.” Fucking clownshow.

Former President Barack Obama stressed that “this kind of despicable violence has no place in our democracy.”

With all due respect sir, if our democracy were functioning for all of the people instead of just for the rich, people wouldn’t feel the need to vote with the ammo box.

An autopsy may finally determine the true size of his face. Praying for the integrity of his facial features postmortem, for science.
