Unless I’m missing a comment from the poster, I don’t think there’s an argument being made to force this actor to grow body hair just for this role.

Just that it’s odd that they’d go through the effort in makeup to make them appear dirty and unkempt, but don’t bother to include body hair. It’s a common practice in makeup to add beards to men to give them a more unkempt appearance, but not armpit or leg hair on women even though most adult women grow hair in these areas.

I never stopped buying things on Craigslist. When I still had a Facebook account I used marketplace too, but I’ve always used Craigslist as a resource as well. I purchased 3 pieces of furniture and some eurorack modules in the last 4 months all on Craigslist.

So while I wouldn’t say it is alive and well because it definitely isn’t what it was in its heyday, people still use Craigslist. 3 of the 4 sellers I talked to said they sold on Craigslist because they hate Facebook, the 4th just didn’t really seem interested in conversing with me and just wanted to sell the table.

Don’t feel ashamed for being attracted to older men. But a word of caution, if you’re in your 20’s, you’ll probably attract older men for the wrong reasons. This was my experience when I was in my 20’s. The people I attracted were just as immature as I was just with way more baggage. As I got older myself I found that to be less and less the case. The divide between 35 and 45 isn’t as big as 25 and 35 as far as life experience goes.

Also don’t give anyone the time of day who doesn’t support you. I don’t mean surround yourself with sycophants, because that’s not support either. Good friends are going to build you up, but also call you out if you’re being dumb. This person doesn’t sound like a good friend.

I’m going to take a shot in the dark and assume it’s been about 20 years since you have been a young 20-something? I’m not Gen Z, I’m old enough to remember a pre-911 America. I get on to my girlfriend all the time for this same thing. Yes it is their job working in customer service to make your experience pleasant, but it’s also hard to take pride in the work that you do when your employer offers no health benefits, pays you poverty wages, and the cost of everything is constantly on the rise.

The material conditions in which they are growing up are very different than what were present when we were. This kids/young adults do not know what it is like to live in a world without the constant threat of terror or an endless stream of information that seeks to use our anxiety and outrage to keep us engaged.

Have some empathy and try to put yourself in their shoes. I’m well established in my career at this point, and I can’t imagine how hard it must be for someone fresh out of college now. If I had that much student loan debt and couldn’t find a job using that degree; I’d be mentally checked out making someone’s coffee too. I’d be thinking about how the hell I’m going to pay back those loans.
