It got recommended to me multiple times now. :D I wonder if there are quirks using SISR, that makes it behave differently in Steam when it is active. One of my reasons to purchase the Steam Controller was, to not rely on third party drivers, as I had some issues with drivers for other controllers. I might end up using my previous gamepad for non Steam games, so both are connected now.

I got mine yesterday and have yet to play a game with it (not just trying out) to judge it. I’m glad the d-pad feels good, better than on original Steam Deck. And the back buttons are better too. However, I already have 2 issues with it (I knew about the first point before purchase): Gamepad does not work without Steam. The puck does not wake up the controller when picking up, nor does it turn it off when I put the controller back to the puck. I like the dock of my 8bitdo more.

Steam Hardware@sopuli.xyz•[Controller] Think these people will be disappointed
6·2 days agoWhat will they do if there is a new Steam Controller in the future? Name it Steam Controller again? Or name it Steam Controller 2? Then every reference in the web to Steam Controller 2 would be hell confusing. I don’t hope this is the start of bad naming like Microsoft got themselves into with Xbox consoles.

Finally the kids will understand where the “Do a barrel roll” meme comes.

Steam Hardware@sopuli.xyz•[Game] Subnautica 2 Is Steam Deck Verified
01·4 days agoThe only problem with 24 fps cinema framerate is, it got 24 fps input latency too. It does not mean it can’t work, like old games. But those were “designed” around that (remember Starfox on SNES?). Todays games are not. Likewise if a game is designed for 30 fps, such as Tears of the Kingdom for Switch, then its totally fine after you get used to it.

Steam Hardware@sopuli.xyz•What driver would the Steam Controller come with if not xinput?
1·6 days agoValve could open source the Steam Controller driver (including the Steam Input configuration and full set of functionality) and make it installable to use without Steam. And for Linux users, at least the core driver could be integrated into Linux for out of the box usability. This would be my perfect scenario. No need to emulate a different type of device, it is its own. A man can only dream.
I just snag one.
Man I had a hard time battling with myself. On one side, I really want one and was waiting years for this even before the Steam Deck was on the market. On the other hand, my limit was 90 Euros (taxes included). And worse than that, it only functions with Steam. Yes, duh you say, its in the name, the Steam Controller. My hope was I could use it as a replacement for my controller acting as a regular gamepad without all the bells and whistles, playing emulators without Steam too. Looks like my that is not gonna happen anytime soon.
If you like Forza 5, then you will probably like Forza 6. Those who had hands on say its pretty much like Forza 5. Biggest difference is obviously the setting in Japan and the game has some progression starting with low cars. And the graphics are more dense and varied then before. This is what I personally expect.

I’m actually happy about GLS. They delivered to Germany, day was correct and even the timeframe between 2 hour window was correct. The driver ring the bell and was going up 4 floors without elevator (where I live). This was pretty nice.
Sometimes the other delivery aren’t like that. They would usually not even ring and tell they were there just to not walk up the floors. And wouldn’t even leave anything so I know which neighbor or shop took it for me and is waiting for me to take it.
