Yeah, I mean, I like laughing at AI failing in funny ways or venture capitalists hyping it to oblivion, but it seems clear that it is just getting better and we need to plan for it.
No, thank you!
Just looked it up, I didn’t realize there was a continuation!
Added to the post body now.

So I’ve been helping out the eels this whole time!
Ooh, that would be cool to have.
I’m not sure, but like the other comment said, if you have the ability to create filters, I’m probably always going to have “Jucika” in the post title, so you could filter it out that way.

Funny: Home of the Haha@lemmy.world•This is already pretty real
3·3 天前That one book under the word “humans” does look suspiciously like the Necronomicon.

2·3 天前I know that you’re probably right. I think right now my disinterest stems from lack of trust that it can be creative/novel or maintain consistent and intentional themes or styles over the course of lots of writing, and I’m mentally flagging that as a solely human trait for now.
If true AGI happens, it won’t matter.

5·3 天前I can logically accept that, but psychologically, if they were similar and I found out that a book I was reading was written by chatgpt instead of a human, I would immediately lose interest. Maybe that’ll change after some time, but It’s hard to imagine.
Thank you, that makes sense.
Nothing tastes right without it anymore.
It appears to be a painting by Scottish artist, Ken Barr.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Have you ever met an actual dumb person?
80·5 天前It’s incredible how easy it is to remain in a bubble. Family, friends, neighbors, college, work colleagues - all are going to be closer to you than the average person.
Anyone who has worked retail, customer service, or otherwise general public-facing jobs will have this put in perspective pretty quickly.
I’ve never heard this before, but I really like it.
I’m so used to Lemmy viewcounts that I sometimes forget how big X/Twitter is.
Only one way to find out.

Comic Strips@lemmy.world•Let's just imagine that he's happy
19·7 天前I believe it’s supposed to be about Sisyphus rejecting the punishment by reclaiming his internal world from the gods. Meaning, their power over him and ability to punish him have failed.
It strikes me as almost Buddhist, but it could totally be a “suck it up and keep moving boxes -Amazon” message too.
Now that’s some very interesting context. I was picturing recreational summer camps and didn’t even consider that they could be labor camps.
Reading the article, the first picture seems quite similar to the Jucika comic, lol.

A reporter was doing a story on their camp, and she didn’t want an authentic picture taken, so she made the reporter wait for her to get dressed up (in clothes that nobody would camp in or wear while shoveling).
The reporter is facepalming because it’s so absurd.

True, and I don’t see how we make that leap. Nobody is going to give that type of tech and investment over to humanity for free.
(also, I thought Musk had already hit 1 trillion, but not quite yet. The high end of his estimated net worth is 988 billion, so give it a month or two.)
