  • That’s not a fair comparison. Measles are highly contagious and viruses can survive for hours on contaminated surfaces. HIV on the on the other hand requires much closer contact. I can share a glass with an HIV infected person all day without any risk, but staying in the same room a measle infected patient left an hour earlier would be a pretty dumb idea for an unvaccinated person.
    Additionally the 95-95-95 goal¹ originally developed by the WHO is ambitious but far from eliminating all transmission of the HI virus.
