Surface shield is just as good or better. You know your stuff, good for you! I do at least one application before winter, and on my car with a little rust I do once more in the late spring as well. The stuff doesn’t seem to harm rubber, so I go crazy and spray it all over with my little 5 gal air compressor and a woolwax gun. Beware, it makes future underside work much dirtier, but I much prefer that to battling rusty bolts.

Invest in some fluid film or other lanolin based undercoating, that way you can stop the road salt damage from getting any worse.

Yeah around here the little 90s car would look even more out of place since most people are driving lifted pickups that they are too out of shape to even lift anything into to haul. Guess what country I live in! :D

Something that most people fail to do on their tools and appliances is maintenance. My house is full of cheap appliances that are pushing 15 or so years of life and running great, but they require work. Filters need to be changed on dishwashers and laundry machines, people never check these often enough. For example, most people I know don’t own an air compressor, which means they never fully clean out all the motor killing dust. Computers, vacuum filters, air purifiers, fridge compressors, all these items need to be blasted with air, way more than you can get from a little can of air like IT people love to use.

Get the proper tools to maintain your things, and even the cheap stuff will last a while.
