Some countries choose to block them, like what Saudi Arabia did.

Most of the world can’t afford to buy one specific android and hope not to brick it. Most people can’t afford a google pixel and if they can, aren’t going to risk it.

And what happens when google cuts off third party tools like MicroG. I need WhatsApp for almost everything from talking to family and friends to Work. Most of the world does, and the same is true for Facebook.

There are open source 2FA. They require like specific apps OTP or something else?

I am not from the US but can’t you interpret the first amendment in a way that would work here?

Code is just information and you could argue that a platform is infringing on private free speech.

Same here. Do people coordinates with each other on Lemmy for design ideas and placements? If so, would anyone be interested in a PInk diamond(Gem) Canvas? I would like to make a Steven Universe tribute.

I can’t really read Arabic(long story). I only read and write in English, which does make 99.9 of all my culture’s literature inaccessible sadly. There some translations though and I would have liked if there were more Arabic audiobooks on the ausiobook scene.

I mostly jump between humanites; geography, philosophy, psychology, sociology and politics and so on. Right now I have a list of loss concepts I want to research

Here are some:

• Alternatives education forms
• STEAM vs STEM
• Journalling techniques
• Color theory in different cultures
• How to fact check
• Why do so many animals have tails
• Diabetes and obesity in the middle east
• Translation science; the role it plays and its effectiveness.
• How to deal with personal biases
• Dysprixa, DID and OCD

Hi gibbon ape(I think I tagged you that cuz they were ur fav primate or something).

maybe giving a bit of your motivation

Ego I suppose, I like the aesthetics of academia and would like to feel a sense of accomplishment. Maybe down the line I become enthralled with a field, but for now its just a hobby.

I find that I prefer humanities more over STEM and I live in Egypt(thought I am not sure how that relates)

Same here. I literally found them out today, the markdown type. I dont even like emojis that much, but thought it would be funny.

discussing online, I’m a bit of a Marxism nerd

I am open to learning about Marxism. I copied a couple of books on my countries Politics from my sister and among them are some communist books. Haven’t gotten around to reading them though

Coming to you as a believer in the inherit problems of Capitalism, but who struggle to imagine a world without it(that isn’t set in the past),do you have anything that’s prescriptive instead of just descriptive? I have seen mountain’s of critics online(mostly YouTube) but no real way forward. I aslo want to know if a communist society is achievable compared to a socialist democracy.

Are you versed in some topics? I could also list some here, if you have sources to point me to.

sameses but maybe you found yourself attracted to a women, no necessary in lets’ take off our clothes and get down on the ground.

I was referring to the “word” atheist. I meant to say that in my culture, people dont really talk about atheist as a thing. I have never met anyone else who left, so I can’t imagine raising kids without religion.

I think the downvotes stem from his opening line that he has some special knowledge of “the word”.

But I am atheist now? What I meant to say was that I grew up religious and its hard for me to imagine raising a child without religion, seeing as how that’s the one template I ever head.

I don’t know what world view you thought i had.

don’t understand the downvotes to asking the question

You and me both.

It was just a question that bothered me for a while. At times, Lemmy(and reddit more so) feel like you will hit a never without even knowing what it is.

Maybe? Obviously it might work out differently than I would like, so there is that.

Or car doorways when getting in or out.

It really sounds like the voice in my head calling me lazy, like bro, is this the best you can do?

Using Voyager here and had no issue, its on the app store.

At most the school could have offered you Urdu instead of Hindi

You know, I never thought of it that way, probably would have made the transition back to Arabic easier too, when I moved back to my country.
