Everything is politics.

Everything is politics.

“Lost the popular vote” is commonly understood to mean they aren’t the party with the most votes. The conservatives were unarguably the party with the most votes. They won the popular vote.
Im not a fan of this outcome either but don’t try to spin the results by redefining terms.

Formatted HD. Have then try to search the BIOS.

It’s not 32% get searched, it increased by 32%. It’s still not common.

The rail strike was absolutely ridiculous. CP and CN absolutely colluded to create that and the government did absolutely noting to seperate the strikes or hold them accountable.
Also don’t forget, CN and CP LOCKED OUT the union. Also they stopped shipping any new dangerous goods weeks before the lockout to make sure that those that relied on DG shipments to power generators in Quebec and clean their municipal water supplies would be loosing their shit on day one of the lockout. They also posted messaging warning people about potential unsafe drinking water if the lockout went on too long.

The government could literally spin up their own Mastodon instance with minimal investment and management needed
But then comes the hard part: getting people to use it, especially normal people. Even just getting the politicians on it would be difficult.

Or the ones that become too powerful.

Was that basically the uniform of all non blue collar men of the 60’s or something?

Some employers with ties to other countries were sort of selling work visas. They’d get the LMIA permit (or whatever its called) and then get someone that wanted to come to Canada but couldn’t immigrate any other way to pay 10’s of thousands to come work that job.

It was nice knowing you.

Maybe we’ll see a federal party that’s a provincial voting block, similar to the PQ, spring up in the west in the semi near future.
You mean like the reform party but more spicy?

eventually settling on the winning side
Hardly… but I don’t see why picking a side on anything in the referendum mattered. The referendum was to see what Albertans wanted and they told her.

Jim Pattison owns a bunch of grocery stores of different types. I believe its the same rewards program for ALL of them so thats like 60% of all grocery stores in BC.

It IS way deeper than just the stuff happening right now. The problems go back many decades, almost a century.

Thats why the USA is pushing it and welcoming these separatist leaders to special meetings. If Alberta separates then we’ll hose them on the pipeline and there will be no future pipeline expansion. The USA is the one that stands to benefit from that because they’ve been hosing Alberta for years on the oil.

I had a sienna for a while and it had TONS of room, had a corolla that was great, and a couple of older toyotas that had decent room. Recently I got a ride in a newer RAV4 taxi/rideshare and was absolutely shocked at how shit the headroom and seat was… I was in the front seat as well.

If you’re on lemmy it’s well within your wheelhouse.
Sigh… ya probably.

Maybe only a semi-related rant, but I think people should also really consider the security and privacy risks of having random apps from these companies on their phones.

Just because things don’t happen the way you want them to doesn’t mean it isnt politics.
Edit: this next part is only loosely realted to this discussion but… I recently had a discussion like this with a coworker. He had the idea that he was a-political and was just enjoying “watching the show” and then would spout political opinions that he didn’t recognize as such. For example, Ukraine got brought up and he said he didn’t care about xyz because [both sides-ism] and Ukraine probably did something to instigate it. Finally after that I decided to butt in every time he took a political stance and remind him that (for example) Ukraine not being entirely innocent IS in fact a political stance.
