Yeah I mean it’s hard to image race doesn’t have an impact but I’m not sure it was the biggest one here. Most of the other victims died off camera and there was no way to contest the regime narrative. If there was another case that was filmed this clearly please correct me but I have not seen any.

Same reason George Floyd was a much bigger deal than other victims of the police. It was just so intimate and obvious that he was murdered that it was impossible to turn away or doubt what happened to him.

The murderer’s body posture looks so different from someone who is afraid.

While I’m sure racism is a factor, it happening on camera is a big factor. That’s why George Floyd was so big even though similar things happened many times before.

It’s being recorded and the world is watching. It will be in some history books but who will have access to those books is a bigger question.
