  • It doesn’t really matter whether he deserves it or not if he moved the Norwegians then that is enough to be special for them. Not for you and I because we didn’t grow up with him, but to the ppl who did.

It is a fact that norwegians are mourning him national wide and it is a huge “event” for them, they care about him deeply.

I don’t understand how they feel, but I respect their feelings and wanted to share the information so that everyone can make an informed decision about how they interact with the news.

Just for information for you and everyone else. This king is very special. He is called by the Norwegians grandpa, they feel very close to him. So I assume that is the reason for the down votes. I don’t think they feel the same for the rest of the Royal family, Harald is just very special for all of the Norwegians. I have heard he was a very kind and compassionate king. But it is better to ask a Norwegian about it.

  • I am with you on this. If you say you will do something then that is a promise, if you break that promise then I can not trust you to follow up next time you say you will do something. But it can be forgiven (but not forgotten) depending on the excuse and could also be nullified if the excuse is your example.

Not showing up on time is also a broken promise, but I do not think ppl realize that.

One person told me (the more correct terms would be argued) that you should lie to please the other because “that is how you build connections”. That really disturbed me, you can not build meaningful relationships with lies and empty promises, unless you do not want to be trusted and do not want to be closer than “they know my name and we can have fun in the moment when doing x”.

Unpopular opinion, I dislike all Pokémon games, I have never understood why ppl like pokemon unless they only like to collect. It isn’t challenging, there is no story (I would call the story just random quests because of the lack of depth) and it is just a grind. And ultimately it doesn’t really matter what Pokémon you pick most of the time, for example Aaron and all the evolve of it, I could play with only it until a water Pokémon came along. It is aimed for kids so I get why it is as it is but even as a kid did I have a hard time liking any of them, I never finished because I got bored, but I still got multiple versions of it because so many liked it. I am fine with it being easy if the story is great, but there isn’t really any story either… And maybe I would had been fine with it without the grind and the forced fights as a relaxing game but I do not know.

    Rant over, sorry

  • We haven’t had one, but if there were, I would probably go. I was pretty much friends with everyone, and I still stay in touch with a few people I am very close with.

My feelings towards a middle school reunion is pretty much the same as everyone’s feelings towards high school reunion. I would never show up to a middle school reunion. There were some people who tried to do one 10-15 years ago, and I never went, and I never will. The people there sucked. I never want to see them again. If I do then I pretend not to know them and I am pretty sure they do the same.

  • that was a good example.

So the police do checks when something seems off, they get a tip or just random checks (which could just be them looking at feeds) so everyone follows the law and parents has the biggest responsibility to make sure the kids follow the law/rules/ban/stay safe.

I like your solution, I would add that we should also add education about internet security (the things you wrote) in the curriculum. And also educate/inform parents at the school yearly or something like that as part of it.

Wouldn’t the last one (algorithm) be what they kinda try to do now (like Discord blocks you from 18+ stuff) and that is why they need to know your age so kids won’t se some stuff that adults can?

  • I think this is a very interesting topic. How can you verify that someone is of age without the problem with privacy?

Would you go to a kiosk or something and buy a code that is not bound to you as a person but the person who works there have verified that you are over 16? So it will kinda be like a steam code except they need to check your actual age with a valid identification (that is only shown to the person) and that code will be bound to an account when claimed. If it is per account then that could also make it annoying for kids to create multiple accounts if they aren’t of age.

How else could you do it without needing to trust someone to keep your identity safe?

    Throw your ideas at me!

And we do not need perfect, look at alcohol consumptions, that is illegal for kids but some find their ways anyway. It just needs to be annoying so most don’t do it or do it less

  • I was in this friend group (many many years ago) were one girl who always amazed me with her conclusions sometimes joined up. She was very kind so you can not dislike her but she didn’t understand very simple concepts and were often lost in conversations that were a bit deeper than small talk. Everyone who met her for the first time always had at least one silent movement where they were thinking “why did she ask/say that?” and were unsure how to proceed (to not hurt her).

At my old workplace did I work with one woman that I think is “dumb” but I am very unsure in what way. I always had this weird feeling when talking to her, it felt like she didn’t really get it but she didn’t say much that would indicate it. Even tho she is older than I did it feel like talking to a child. It was a very weird experience. I didn’t really talk much with her so I heard most things second hand but she could come to some weird conclusions about how to do her job. For example I often came earlier so I could leave earlier, so she did the same except I was actually working she did not, she were just sitting there for 1 hour doing nothing and assumed that was ok, as if we got payed to be there not actually work. When her boss told her off did she get stressful like a child and you saw she felt ashamed. She did this for many things and how she reacted made it seem like a child. I am unsure if she just tested us or if she actually thought it would be ok.

Otherwise do I not really meet “dumb” ppl. It is more about not having the knowledge or experience to know how to proceed or understand something. And some ppl are often in flight or fight mode when stressful problems arrive, so they do not think and come up with a solution that may be called “dumb”.

Weirdly, it is my boss. He always got my back and takes everything I say really seriously. I am not the only one who thinks he is the best boss. We get a lot of perks that some of my friends are jealous of, but I value my boss far more than most of those perks. I have learned that if the boss sucks than great perks doesn’t keep me, maybe a bit longer, but usually not for long.

  • If you say you are bi then I would assume you will fall in love and be attracted to men and women not just have mechanical sex with men like it is a flesh dildo. So op would lie if she said she were bi. It would deceive men into thinking they had a chance and that she would be horny for them and fall for them.

She said she only falls for women, feel sexual attracted to women and if she could she would be with a woman. But she is fine with using her partner who she was forced to marry (sorry for this wording op) as a sex toy.

So I would call her a closet lesbian that is pragmatic.
