This was the logical and inevitable consequence of conservative attacks on female autonomy. And most people either don’t care, or actively support it.

The word “literally” has been forever ruined by people who use it to mean “figuratively.” Worse, there is now literally no way to actually convey the original meaning of the word “literally” in a concise, clear way.

You have to say something like, “A is literally 10 times bigger than B…and I mean that ACTUALLY literally.” And then people will STILL assume that you’re speaking figuratively.

My boomer parents will die on the hill that it sounds “wrong” to use “they” to refer to a singular entity. And whenever they bring that up, I always remind them that the word “they” has been used in that way for AGES.

Example: “Whose umbrella is this? Did they already leave?”

It doesn’t seem to make a difference.
