My job pushed windows on us two years ago. I work as freelancer and don’t have much choice, it’s either “comply” or “leave”.

It especially cool that steam deck basically set the rules upon arrival:

• Being cheap (not anymore tho) — it was two to three times cheaper than competitives
• Providing best user experience with SteamOS — showing that UI matters on such devices
• Being serviceable — you can easily fix or at least replace components

It’s not like they was first company to present x86 handheld, but they was first one who was able to take off. I bought asus rog ally year ago (with z1extreme) and I already swapped os, nvme and sticks in it, battery will be next, cause in this model it abysmally small. And I can bet if not for stream deck, even if asus would release rog ally, it would cost x2 and repairability would basically none existent. And chance are it would have problems with linux (like their rog ally xbox version)

There a couple really promising animes this season - another adoptation of “Ghost in the shell” and “Yani Neko” - anime about obsessed with smoking cat-girl. Both visually tiers above what you would usually see. And recent “frieren beyond journey’s end” also quite good. I really hope it’s not a “fluke” and a general direction where anime is headed, cause all that slop with cheap 3d about yet another isekaed character_name, kinda started to bother people - no one wants it.

Also, season 3 of “One punch man” with it’s moving-png meme kinda hit the nerves of some people in charge, could also affect things.

I’m afraid we will disappoint you further here, cause steam machine is just a PC with SteamOS (which is “just” an Arch Linux with few tweaks\changes). So all those issues described above and their workarounds also applied to steam machine.

Like, I had to buy new phone two years ago, cause my previous phone was falling apart (literally, I had to reglue the screen) and the only good option that was on the market without annoying notch for front-facing camera - was nubia z70. No notch, no weird “eyebrow”, nothing. Just screen, as it fucking supposed to be. Long story short, it have pretty fast snapdragon, but there no roms cause of that. Plus bootloader straight up locked from the factory and afaik, there no way to unlock it easily.
