help-circle
  • three main groups broke the law. first, the protestors, blocking traffic, assaulting locals, breaking various bylaws. like litering, loitering, sound pollution, obstruction, etc. generally speaking, disturbing the peace.

and later on it was found out that there was mass fraud, and funds being sent to gofundme’s meant for the convoy, which were syphoned off by white supremacists groups that were then linked to the january 6th insurrection in the united states, primarily the proud boys. but for now, that is beside the point.

then the police broke the law, by not enforcing the law, because many of the police were politically aligned with maple MAGA and were sympathetic to their movement. they didnt punish infractions, or keep lanes clear for regular traffic or emergency services, such as fire trucks and ambulances.

then, due to the original laws being broken, followed by the laws broken by the police refusing to enforce the laws, the government then decided to break the law, and declare a national emergency, escalated the issue drastically. and stopped the convoy.

so. nobody was innocent. everybody fucked up to a degree. but it set a precedent.

however. the real issue was caused by the vast amounts of misinformation that was being pumped via american social media companies and independant news groups, during trumps presidency. who wished to destabalize our country so that we would be put into a sore position that could be taken advantage of in the future.

this is why we are currently in a trade war with the same president they had back then, who has consistently spoken about annexing us economically, and making canada the 51st state.

also, this maga/maple maga movement, powered by the qanon movement, which was birthed on 4chan /pol/. was a deliberate manipulation and right wing psyop created by epstein and his group of pedophile billionaire pals years in advance.

its in the epstein library on the doj website if you want to read it yourself.

essentially the entire modern far right movement was created by epstein and co. which is hilariously ironic. as it is sad and disturbing.

  • thought i wrote this comment and forgot about it lol.

i think we may have a “canadian bacon” style drama played out in the political theatre of the world stage.

carney is a banker, and relatively rich one as well. whos used his station to stoke companies that we know hes involved with and invested in. and that have global oligarchs and billionairs involved, often with american origins.

i believe its all just a show, coke and pepsi, same company. the beurgeois look out for each other, and they own the media, so the story we get is the one they want us to hear.

using fear of american invasion or economic annexation has given the ruling class a blank cheque, and they seem to be using it to do the opposite of what they claimed they would use it for.

fighting climate change, fighting fascism, authoritarianism, expanding social programs and lowering the price of housing, groceries, etc.

they placate us with crumbs and claim its a feast, a payment here, a “working class tax cut” there. but in the end all it does is enrich the private entities its supposed to combat.

its all bullshit. its all a show. and the majority of people are too caught up in the headlines and clickbait titles to actually read the oldest and most consistent subtext.

the rich get richer, the poor get poorer. they distract us with bread and circus and hate for our fellow man. sowing division and fear, only to increase their chokehold on the people.

the best thing a leftist has to say about carney is that he isnt pierre poilievre. but he conveniently came at a time where the left was desperate for options, and the media sold him as our “trump card” and this is what we get… a literal conservative, passing himself off as a liberal, the only difference being that he “supports LGBTQ rights” because its politically convenient for him to do so. if it wasnt, then he wouldnt.

all we got so far is more pipelines, an LNG plant, and laws that reduce the power of the people, and incresse the police/surveillance state. “for our safety”. and a separatist movement who carney seems to ignore the treasonous implications and leadership by his new pipeline buddy, danielle smith.

and most of the new infrastructure built for these oil projects will be paid for publicly, but owned privately. and in part owned by large multinational companies, some with american origins.

counter intuitive to say the least.

    its all bullshit.

the rich get richer, the poor get poorer.

the fact is, canada has no gold reserves, its main source of reserve currency is USD, US treasury bonds…fucking petrodollars…

if the US fails. we go down with them.

we arent fighting shit. they are integrating us into a future run by anarcho capitalists and techno feudalists.

  • hes obviously the best option we can realistically hope for in our current social/political structure. HOWEVER. hes a politician, and a very wealthy banker. so dont miss the mountain for the trees here.

quietly pushing digital ID, AI, increased surveillance, decreased personal privacy, subverting charter rights and constitutional rights, giving our information without warrant to the police, our government, and the united states government and corporations, using tax payer funding to pay for private interest projects that directly undermine green energy and expand american, and other foreign financial interest in our countries resources. removing canadians ability to defend themselves against an apparantly imminent foreign invasion by reducing firearm availability and punishing legal gun owners as a result of an issue directly correlated to illegal firearms imported from the united states. all the while increasing police funding and military funding which also directly puts tax payer money into the pockets of military contractors, foreign and domestic. limiting the ability to defend our sovereignity to government employees rather than average citizens.

he gives a great speech, he is much better than pierre poilievre, however, he does not represent 99% of canadians, he represents the rich, industry, and established/emerging monopolies above all else. the new world order he speaks of is one where we will continue to struggle financially as workers so that corporations and the elite can maintain stable control over a productive yet exhausted population. snowballing the concentration of wealth and power to the elite, and new emerging elite class. while reducing ownership for consumers in virtually every single sector you can imagine. fuelling our economy with an indebted population.

the new boot on our heads is just a bit more polished and expensive, but it is still a boot on our heads. and its going to be a bit heavier than it was before. but with the right marketing, we will always beg for more, thinking its for our own good.

so unless you are already quite well off, dont expect a grand shift in your fortunes and affordability. not just because of him, or trump, or a new economic model, but the class that they both represent. the elites are shifting the board, and the people, as always, will bear the brunt of it all. while they make off like faceless bandits, and we infight against one another, fearful of immigrants, foreign powers, differing ideologies, and general security.

politicians are merely puppets, scape goats, hitmen, and sin eaters for the wealthy and poor alike. hired to take the guilt, shame, glory, and responsibility of our wanted desires so that we do not have to. when it goes good or bad we claim proudly or sheepishly who we voted for, and blame each other for the outcomes, regardless of how good or bad they may actually be, instead of directly addressing the faceless manipulators who guided and uplifted every single head of state in the modern world, for their benefit.

that is the beauty of being an elite, all the riches and glory, and no repercussions. the social backlash is for the political lackies.

when any head of state speaks, pretend they are only speaking to the wealthy. because they are.

“its a big club, and you aint in it”

  • You can’t fight the wildfire that will claim your hunting grounds with a fucking gun, genius.

correct. but we can dissuade the people who hold the match from lighting it.

fascism doesnt bow to democracy, authoritarians dont fear pies to the face, oligarchs dont care about your hunger strike. and monopolies dont give a fuck about a grass roots start up trying to save the environement, making them look bad in comparison. if anything they are a slight, but managable annoyance.

but every single one of those systems, individuals, all of them are scared of people with the ability to stop them from getting what they want. whether through spoken word, or physical resistance.

we live in a world where guns exist, we also live in a world where government representatives like the military, and police have guns. and so, we are at their mercy. they decide the laws, and unless we want to be shot or arrested and imprisoned, we must follow those laws. even if they ultimately lead to a postponed death through something like climate change.

i wish you could snap your fingers and make guns, and other weapons of violence and war no longer exist.

but they do, and those without them will forever be at the mercy of those who wield them.

excuse me while i butcher this quote.

“if i have a gun, and you have a gun, then we can have a conversation, if you have a gun, and i do not, then thats not a conversation, thats coercion”

guns are not integral to my beliefs, in fact i hate guns, when used as a tool for violence against human beings, but i will not be so naive as to think that uprooting an entire political system will not come without some degree of violent resistance. sooner, or later.

dreams are free, manifesting them requires sacrifice.

and id prefer they be on the altar, in our place.

  • i agree that guns are not on the top of the list of important things for most canadians. however you are not going to flip conservative, rural/indigenous hunters without some kind of roll back, as an indigenous hunter myself, who hunts to sustain myself and my family. its annoying that we would rather spend money on a buy back programs instead of using that money to secure the border and dedicate more law enforcment to addressing illegally imported firearms and ghost guns.

if we want a presence from the NDP, and to gain official status back, this is just one issue that would flip a massive sum of voters from the conservative and im sure the liberal party as well.

everything else the NDP wants starts to make sense when you allow canadians to have their privacy and some autonomy back in their lives. everything else sweetens the pot. unfortunately there are a lot of single issue voters when it comes to gun rights. if we undermine the conservative parties policies, like the liberals did, and quite successfully, specifically around gun rights. it would be a slam dunk return for the NDP.

ive spoken to a quite a few people who decided to vote conservative on this policy alone. the rest of their platform doesnt work for them (obviously) otherwise. we need to strengthen individual rights, and workers rights, and we need a better armed population. because none of our wanted policies will matter if we are annexed by the states without a fight.

we unfortunately do not have the luxury of living in a safe world anymore. and we need numbers to ensure that we get the policies that serve all canadians. even the ones traditionally on the other side of the isle.

  • ill just throw this out there. because in my point of view, i do believe canada, and generally the west itself has a nearing exparation date as far as the normal function of our society goes. we are entering into a death spiral that will likely see our entire way of life dramatically change, and we as a country may not exist in the same way every again. that being said.

i would care more if any of these individuals were actually consistent on issues that really matter.

some of them may be worker positive, others wish to centralise the party further right, others want stronger unions, and increased immigration. but none of them are nearly dramatic enough to fight the only fight that really matters. they care more about the economy and immigration than the environment, nationalising energy projects, or dismantling monopolies. none of them care about attacking the cancer that is oligarch influence in our country.

what we would end up getting is a milk toast feel good government which would spend more money on advertising what the right would inevitably call “woke bullshit” and rile them up about canada “doing a socialism” furthering the divide and increasing separatist support.

dont get me wrong, i love the idea of strong unions, immigration (when balanced with increasing living standards, and not done maliciously to the detriment of immigrants and canadians, stagnating wages, increasing the cost of housing, and creating scape goats out of people who just want a better life)

what we need is someone who will promise not to fuck with legal gun owners, and if anything roll back gun bans on “military STYLE guns” (especially right now when we face a potential invasion from the US) we need someone who is pro worker, pro union, and pro free healthcare. we need a new national standard of pay for healthcare workers and a federally implemented standard that dramatically cuts the progress of privatised healthcare at every corner. we need someone who will dismantle telecom monopolies, nationalise our energy sector, and telecom companies. develope domestic trade routes, international trade agreements. protect our private information, and remove surveillance technology from the police and csis against canadian citizens that would interfere with our constitutional right to privacy. while also ensuring that AI ethics are dramatically enforced by anyone wishing to make them available in canada. environmentally, and content wise. we need someone who will work to create a balanced and fair immigration system that allows our standard of living to increase in spite of new canadians coming over to make a new home. and we need someone to dismantle the system of realestate investment in canada, who will completely remove or severaly reduce corporate ownership of single family homes, farm land, and condominiums. there needs to also be an individual cap on home ownership as well. at the very max a normal individual can own no more than two residential properties in canada without licensing. ALSO, this is extremely upsetting to hear for landlords. we need combined ownership rights from renters and landlords. if you pay 90% of someones mortgage, then you should be entitled to 90% of the equity. we need to dramatically reduce the allure of landlording. it is parasitic. and destructive.

feel free to shit all over what i just said. but honestly our countries fucked either way with the current changes in the world, and perhaps when we rebuild, we rebuild it a bit more fairly once that child raping geriatric fuck down south chokes to death on a big mac.

oligarchs and billionaires should simply not exist, not in canada. not anywhere in the world. they are directly to blame for the negative influence in our country. and so, we should attack the system that allows it. if we corner off our country from them, that is one massive landmass of labour, and a millenias worth of resources they cant touch. fuck em.

  • cons and libs are literally the same party, both are right leaning, and the overton window shifted to the point that the NDP are virtually a non issue. we are a two party system with smoke and mirrors. the rich place bets and investments on both sides. some profit more, the other might profit a bit less. but still. profit. depends on whos steering the ship and whos the most likely to succeed. but above all else. optics, public opinion, pizazz…who is going to keep the population productive and obediant the longest. etc.

canadian politicians are only allowed to go so far as independant policy makers. once they reach a certain level, they either play the game, or leave the table. and its not just canadian wealth dictating who comes and goes. its global wealth, whether we like to believe it or not.

a great example. self defence laws. the current iteration was created under harper, partially written and put forth by PP. liberals did nothing to change it over the last decade, and now PP, is trying to create the “castle law” since he cant really bitch about carbon tax anymore. although its technically still a thing, just not named “carbon tax” and the new reality of it doesnt fit into a clean two or three letter term like “carbon tax carney” anymore. its too difficult to explain in a sound bite. but “castle law” sure as shit does. now hes blaming the libs for a law he helped create. libs did nothing to remove that law (because why would they? they both wanted the law in the first place, more control)

so. its all political theatre. its like two directors vying for a script from a big studio. they can add their own flair to it, visually, but the plot remains the same, and the studio decides what that is.

the studio being oil/gas/energy/mining/telecom/tech/realestate/oligarchs/billionaires/etc etc etc.

if only there was a way to kill a hydra with so many heads…
