A proposal to fund $1 billion in security additions for the White House campus and the president’s new ballroom fails to meet procedural rules, according to the Senate parliamentarian, dealing a blow to Republican plans to include it as part of a bill to fund immigration enforcement agencies for the next three years.
The parliamentarian’s ruling, described late Saturday by Senate Democrats, said that funding for a project as large and complex as Donald Trump’s massive East Wing renovation is too broad to be included in the narrow GOP budget bill, which cannot be filibustered and only needs a simple majority to pass.
It’s unclear if Republicans will be able to immediately salvage any part of the billion-dollar Secret Service proposal, which would fund security for Trump’s ballroom along with other parts of the White House, including a new visitor screening center, additional training for agents and extra reinforcements for large events. Republicans said Saturday night that they are revising the legislation based on the parliamentarian’s advice.
Leave the hole in the ground. We can dub it the “Trump Monument”.

Why not call it the Pedophile Palace?
I surely hope they block plans to waste a billion in taxpayers money for a project that was supposed to be completely financed by private donors, and was completely unnecessary in the first place.
You’re not paying attention if you think it’s a waste. It’s a plan of defense for when the tech oligarchs and the fascist government are met with outrage from the masses.
The plan is that only a small amount of people will not accept the election results in 2028. But the security is meant to control it.
You’ll watch it in the news. The violent “domestic terrorist” attempted to not accept the results of the elections. The tech oligarchs confirm the validity of the election with their technology, encryption and AI.
And you, as a liberal, believe this because the very people taking control now, once made you believe that their manufactured attempt at insurrection is the same as this resistance. That all forms of physical resistance is irrational. You are a liberal. You believe in “rational and peaceful” protest. This resistance is surely not correct. We are surely not at that point. I can’t still afford my rent afterall. Afterall, we have another election in 2030. We must build our resistance through electoral means.
Seriously, if you think that these stories are about wasting your tax dollars, you haven’t been paying attention. This is the ruling class preparing to protect itself. We need to be doing the same.
Senate Republicans have fired the Senate Parliamentarian once, in 2001, when Majority Leader Trent Lott dismissed Robert Dove over budget reconciliation rulings. They have also overriden or changed rules against the parliamentarian’s advice, most notably regarding judicial nominees in 2017.
