Reminder: Ride with cameras, lights, a helmet, and at least a couple self defense options that you are proficient with - the world is full of violent shitbags, so make sure it’s them and not you if things escalate.

Hey, don’t be violent and you’ll be OK, but if you attack somebody, you deserve to get fucked up as badly as they need to fuck you up in order to stop you. Threaten someone’s life and they have every right to pepper spray you, dome you with a bike lock, or worse: Whatever is necessary to survive.
Just don’t attack people, it’s not a complicated rule.
Any suggestions for a mounted camera? I have a GoPro that mounts to my backpack but often forgotten.
I prefer 360 cameras because they don’t really miss anything close up. I use Insta360s X5s because they have replaceable lenses.
Do you mount that to your helmet? Or handlebars?
On my e-bikes, I have one on my helmet and another mounted to the back to catch plates better. Having two also offers some redundancy should one be destroyed in a crash.
On my regular bikes, I have one mounted on the front pars and one mounted on the seatpost or to a bag depending on the bike.
If you ride moto, I’d recommend getting upgraded drop-in cage mounts instead of the screw on kind: That’s a lot more vibration and I’ve seen 360 cameras get trashed when it all goes through the mount point alone. Even if you’re driving, still use dashcams of some kind, people are crazy and having evidence of what really happened could save you.
DJI kinda beats everything in terms of features at any price point. My only complaint is I can only record 2.5 hours of 4k60 per battery on hot days, but 20 hours of 1080 should be fine for your use case.
