In my experience, loading up the steam wallet with the money beforehand helped my controller order go through immediately. It will be an absolute pain to add that much to the steam wallet for such a big purchase though.
From what I am gathering, the main issue is with the payment processor handling the volume of orders. If you can sidestep that by having the funds already, then you might have better chances
That’s a very good idea. I’m pretty sure the payment processing is the bottleneck here. I tried to buy the controller for 30 minutes without luck using Paypal. Switched to debit card and it went through first try.
Now I’m worried about my chances to get my hands on a steam frame once it releases.

I also paid entirely by wallet, but it still took a good 7 minutes of spamming the continue button until I got past the errors.
