[a character is pointing at and berating a strawman made to look like a stereotypical communist]
So, you’re a communist right?
Okay then, solve every single problem in the world right now
Create the perfect society, we’re watching, you have five minutes
Can’t do it? Sounds like your silly ideology is whack then
Tankie!

Me with little theory background and almost 0 economics knowledge trying to advocate for socialism/communism to my right wing coworkers
Honestly the first thing I try to get across to people, and one that most people are receptive to is “What makes a thing itself? It’s relationships with everything else.”
Similar, but from remembering from some yt videos:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Overproduction
Non-Marxist version of the similar thing, where the focus is shifted from production to consumption:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Underconsumption
And https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tendency_of_the_rate_of_profit_to_fall
Well they have even less than 0 economics knowledge because the things they know aren’t true/real so it’s probably best to just save your breath because they won’t find the evidence persuasive. They could start by looking at corporate earnings per share under blue vs red administrations but they won’t or will just handwaive.
We are not at all talking about democrats vs republicans. Both are right wing and I am not in the US
What you’re suggesting is hardly relevant to economics literacy, and not at all relevant to communism.
