this is a great sentiment if everyone around you is rational, intelligent and sophisticated. but they’re fucking not.

my mother terrorized my sister and i as children and everyone in the family knew about the abuse. but she’s ok.

me? i don’t get invited to the family BBQs because i experimented with psychedelics.
