Watch now | While he technically clinched this majority after three byelection wins last night, the real change in seat counts came from floor crossers who joined the Liberals.
Bait and switch… I thought I was reading an article but it just redirects to a video. Oh well.
I agree with her though; in most situations, minority governments are best, representing Canadians the best.
A majority is useful only when we want the government to be able to move quickly, taking unpopular but necessary steps that it would take too long to come to consensus on.
So, I’m not sure how I feel about it in this case.
Exactly. And, unfortunately, we have to evaluate this in the current context.
A majority for Carney, basically removes power from the other parties. The NDP is in shambles, hopefully on the way up with a new leader but we’ll see.
For the rest, the opposition was Poilievre who has nothing useful to say or contribute. I was hoping this latest humiliation would get PP tossed and, maybe, hopefully, if hell froze over, the Conservatives would choose a leader that is worth listening to… but alas, that does not seem to be the case.
All in all, I do not like majorities but considering the Orange menace down south, I think a gov that can move quickly may prove useful.

PP has the ear of American MAGA and the Conservatives are on that like flies on scat.
