This is not a special law against antisemitism. This is a generic law against incitement of hate and discrimination, with more serious punishments if violence is done, or if a group does it, or if serious consequences happen.

They added the word “anti-semitism” to the list of forbidden forms of incitement (it already forbade inciting ethnic and religous hate).

The Israeli newspaper makes it sound special, but it really is not.

Are there any other hate crimes regarding specific religion in that list?

Are there any other hate crimes regarding specific religion in that list?

This may be the wrong question, but if the notion is special treatment toward a particular religion, I need to ask… and please forgive my ignorance… what mainstream examples exist of words like “antisemitism,” but regarding some other specific religion?

I’m trying to rule out the idea that this inclusion isn’t just a matter of listing off different common types of hate crimes. Off the top of my head, I can’t think of any words beside “antisemitism,” though I do know (1) “antisemitism” is specific to Judaism and (2) hate crime can target any religion. So, to be more fair, what else should they have included in the list?
