So if sex in an airplane is called “the mile high club”.

What should the club which includes people who have sex in a psych ward be called?

Edit: for clarity, two patients who are both well enough to be capable of consent and who do consent

I had a horrible experience with psychosis earlier this year. The thing I never grasped before is how none of it appears like a hallucination like adventurous people might have experienced in other contexts. The whole thing appears real and totally credible. I had the spotlight effect and had become convinced there was some kind of conspiracy against me where the neighbours had dispatched assassins to my flat.

I seriously doubt someone in the throws of a psychotic episode is able to consent in a meaningful way.

Not all who are committed are experiencing a psychotic episode. Some are simply depressed.

That being said, as someone who has also experienced psychosis and who consented to kids and marriage during… I feel for you

Probably shouldn’t have been bringing up my heavy experiences on your light hearted post. Just recently recovered so still marvelling at how thoroughly it messes up your shit.

I’ve been in a mental institution but not a psych ward … it’s highly discouraged “hooking” up and they check in on us often. There’s in and out patients but inpatients … like I was checked up on quite often.

However, I’m trying to the of puns on Zoloft, Bipolar, Depression, Looney Bin, Group Therapy, Nut House…

Smile High Club? Deepression A little 1-on-1? In and Out Patients? Earning A Sponsorship?

Okay, I had a long day at work, I’ll try again tomorrow.

Hopefully the bar club, as in they are put behind bars. Pretty sure having sex with psych patients wouldn’t involve consent, and would involve unequal power dynamics.

Unless you’re referring to two pysch patients boning, then I guess you could call it the nut(ty) club.

Can one give consent in a situation when they’ve mentally decompensated to a point where they are a risk to themselves or those around them and need intervention?
