Ubisoft’s first North American union, located at their Halifax, Nova Scotia studio, was certified on December 18th, 2025. Now, not even a full 30 days later, Ubisoft Halifax is closing.
World requires posts be from the last 30 days.
This is from January.
This happened almost 3 months ago. Fuck Ubi for doing it, but posts to his community are supposed to be from within the last 30 days.
This user seems to be going around and reposting old articles and posts in new communities, for some reason.
Wow. Talk about showing your cards. They are so afraid of a union they will cut off their own profit generators.
Put a decent idea onto those union members and let them make their own indie game.
Or, maybe, it was only profitable because they exploited their employees.
is… is that how we get rid of aaa crap?
also, if a company is willing to just close and not be profitable/exist just because union… that should be a clear sign to ALL that unions are actually there for you, the working class… unionizr everything… make them flee or go broke trying to stop the union.
Not a consequence of the unionization according to Ubisoft. But, not sure how trustworthy that source is (Ubisoft).
I’m completely sure how trustworthy that source is.
Mission understood:
Abandon and shun a ll things Ubisoft.
Um… Boss? We were already doing that…
yeeeeeeeeah gamers in general have been doing that for quite awhile now.
lol, that won’t be difficult
Here’s hoping they all start independent studios
With the way high end computer hardware becomes unaffordable, small teams focusing on fun instead of graphics is a good way to go.
that’s like cutting your foot off because you have a hangnail
