But the reality of the situation is that people who step forward should be given the benefit of the doubt because of the evidence and history of sexual violence especially towards children and women being ignored in the United States and the absolute miscarriage of justice that is. The balance as it stands now is hardly any of rape or sexual misconduct allegations are taken seriously or even investigated.
Just look at our president and his history with abusing minors and adults basically all out in the open for decades. That is the state of justice with regards to sexual assault in the U.S.
There is not an epidemic of people losing their jobs or becoming social pariahs because of false rape claims. There is an epidemic of sexual violence against children and women and men in the United States. No one is convicted because someone just claims they have been assaulted.
