These are games that get streamed and people just mindlessly fall over on themselves to get - simply because they watched a streamer play them. It’s happened with Fall Guys, it’s happened with Simulator games, it’s happened with other similar games. They would be popular for a good two weeks worth and then dead afterwards just so people can fawn over the next game.
It is a symptom of people chasing that carrot on the stick.
Fall Guys became really popular because it was free for PS plus members one month. So everyone on Playstation tried it out and liked it for a bit and since it wasnt the best game it faded quickly. For those not on Playstation, it seemed random.
Hey, simulator games have value outside of that, too. At the very least. Like, Truck Simulator? Yeah we play that and it’s not because of streamers. It’s just a very chill game where you get to drive all over the country. (I like Elite Dangerous for a lot of the same reasons. Slow-paced and chill and lots of buttons to push that actually do something meaningful.)
In fairness, some games serve their purpose and are done. A simulator can run out of upgrades and new functions. Fall guys is live service but you can still play all the maps and be content you’ve had enough.
A game can end, or you can be done with something even if you haven’t completed it and that’s okay. Play to have fun, if you aren’t having fun stop playing it, life is too short to force yourself to keep going when it’s no longer rewarding.
Flavor-of-the-week games.

Sometimes those are nice. A lot of them are shorter games you can finish quickly and get on with your life from.
